My (emotional) interview with Tommaso Di Bartolo, the Web3 expert who made me start my blog

Today I publish a very special article. You know that one month ago my blog made its 6th birthday and I promised some special article about it. Well, today I fulfill that promise by interviewing Tommaso Di Bartolo, serial entrepreneur, marketing expert, and mentor, who during the summer of 2016 suggested me to start a blog to promote my startup of that time, Immotionar. We never saw again after that moment, we didn’t even have a real opportunity to speak or to connect in any way. He didn’t even know what positive effect he had caused on me. I recently saw that he joined us in the metaverse field, and so I asked him to speak with him for an interview, because that day, with just two sentences, he changed my life, and I wanted just to say thank you to him. It’s also beautiful that he also joined my

The metaverse enters the Gartner hype cycle (but with a 10+ years outlook)

Ten days ago, the business analysts at Gartner released their “Hype Cycle” for 2022, and inside there are references to some of the technologies that we in the immersive community care about, in particular the metaverse. Gartner Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies A small primer in case you don’t know what is the Gartner Hype Cycle. Gartner is one of the most respected business analysis companies in the world and every year it releases a graph of the disruptive innovative technologies to keep an eye on: the Hype Cycle. This graph shows what technologies may be disruptive for the short and long-term future, and so what technologies big companies should start working with because they could create opportunities for them or disrupt their own business. The graph is called the “Hype Cycle” because it puts the technologies on a curve that highlights the typical reception of a disruptive technology: At

Making High-End Digital Fashion a More Accessible Reality

Digital fashion is making waves online and in the real world. Using augmented and virtual reality technologies, customers can “wear” digital clothing and accessories like they would their traditional, tangible counterparts. However, unlike their more traditional counterparts, these digital outfits break the rules and confines of the real world, enabling people to have more ways to express themselves and break boundaries. A Business of Fashion report highlights the steady shift from traditional to more novel, digital platforms, with 50% of US consumers showing interest in acquiring digital assets, be they NFTs, in-game items, digital avatars, or digital fashion. The Rise of Digital Fashion The pandemic has propelled the transition to digital. While consumers are already trying out digital skins, other in-game accessories, and social media filters, consumers’ expectations and behaviors are constantly changing. Digital fashion offers a way for consumers to use digital wearables for their avatars or to have

The Virtual Gold Rush: Financial Institutions Joining the Metaverse

The metaverse is nearly here. And the fact that it is not just a passing fad is demonstrated by the fact that financial institutions are joining the metaverse. Known as conservative in adopting new trends and extremely careful with the assets they create or accept, banks and investment funds are now making the first steps into the virtual world. This is, perhaps, the highest form of validation the new digital world can get. Forecasts for the Development of the Metaverse During the first quarter of 2022, research company Gartner, Inc. published an interesting report, which predicted that by 2026, 25% of the people in the world will spend at least one hour per day in the metaverse. What are people likely to do in this virtual space? According to the report, they will use the metaverse for work, entertainment, education, social interactions, and shopping. .u9965a3e8f5cffdaddee74e7a5152bde9 { padding:0px; margin: 0;
